Conceptual estimating through RS Means can actually be very detailed. You can do several different kinds of estimates, but we focused on unit and assembly conceptual estimating. This project was very detailed on a pretty complex concrete takeoff of a building here at Virginia Tech, off of Plantation Road. In RS means, an estimator will search through a database of construction units, and compile them into the project estimate. From there the estimator can customize the project estimate.
